Join MACAE and our partners—the Michigan College Access Network (MCAN), Michigan Works!, the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity – Workforce Development, Iosco RESA, and Alpena Community College—for a free Learner Summit designed to help adults plan their next steps toward education, training, and employment.
Taking place on May 28 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Alpena Community College, this interactive event will connect learners with trusted experts and practical resources to support career exploration, college access, and workforce success. Participants will have the opportunity to attend sessions focused on resume development (including the use of AI tools), understanding financial aid and FAFSA, adult education pathways, and exploring career and training options available in Michigan.
Sessions will include:
Michigan Works! – Overview of workforce services and resources to support your career goals, plus a resume presentation incorporating AI tools
Michigan College Access Network (MCAN) – FAFSA and financial aid guidance
IRESA – Adult Education 101 and career exploration
Alpena Community College (ACC) – Admissions, financial aid, and program overview
This summit is ideal for adults who are considering earning their GED or high school diploma, college or training, exploring new career pathways, or seeking support to take the next step toward their future.
