Beyond the Numbers: Creative Data Sources for Stronger Proposals

Thursday, October 30, 2025 (3:00 PM - 4:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

Data isn’t just a requirement for grant writing—it’s a powerful tool to tell your program’s story and demonstrate impact. In this session, participants will explore data sources to strengthen proposals and reporting. We’ll begin with a brief overview of why data matters in grant writing, then dive into a variety of sources including WIN, Census, PIAAC, Labor Market Data, and MACAE Data Maps. Participants will have the opportunity to work in groups to pull and analyze data they find useful or novel, applying it directly to real-world grant scenarios. Groups will share their insights and discoveries, highlighting creative ways to use data to tell compelling stories. We’ll conclude by discussing strategies to put these numbers to work, transforming data into persuasive narratives that funders can’t ignore.
